Glenmore Reservoir Trail
Difficulty: Easy
Time: 1.5 hours
The Glenmore Reservoir Trail is approximately 15.4km long and circles the Glenmore Reservoir in Calgary, Alberta. This loop trail is a wonderful multi-use path that is excellent for biking, running or walking your dog. The trail bifurcates into walking and biking paths in some sections, which makes it much more enjoyable for both bikers and walkers, as well as being more safe. This trail is family-friendly and heavily trafficked so please be mindful of other patrons while enjoying this gorgeous trail.
We started the trail from the North Glenmore Parking Lot and headed counter clockwise, this route will be significantly easier as there are less uphill sections, although there is still one steep hill to conquer just after the Weaselhead.
You’ll enjoy spectacular scenery all around, with beautiful views of the Glenmore Reservoir, Rockyview Hospital, and Heritage Park. Make sure you stop by the Railway Cafe at Heritage Park to grab some snacks and refreshments.
In all, this trail took approximately an hour and a half biking at a leisurely pace, and stopping for some snacks and drinks.
This trail offers a beautiful escape from the hustle and bustle of city life, so get out and enjoy it before winter is here!
