How to Travel to Thailand Right Now with Phuket Sandbox
Thailand is re-opening and it’s possible to travel there right now without a lengthy quarantine, as long as you are fully vaccinated.
Welcome to Phuket Sandbox! This initiative allows fully vaccinated travellers who meet certain requirements to visit and freely explore the island, without having to spend time trapped in a quarantine facility.
At the time of our trip (September 2021), there were a few things that we had to secure before entering the country:
Certificate of Entry
Health insurance covering COVID-19
Hotel bookings (SHA Plus certified)
RT-PCR COVID-19 tests
Confirmed return flight
Passport (with at least 6 months’ validity)
Proof of full vaccination against COVID-19
Watch the video below for more details on entry & testing requirements, and what the journey from Toronto to Phuket is really like.
As the situation changes, so might this process. But, travel in the age of a pandemic means that we have to spend a little more time planning and making sure that we’re up to date.
